At Rhinestone, we offer different placement options depending on your goals—whether you’re looking for a companion, a performance prospect, or participation in our breeding program.

Companion Dog Agreement (Pet Homes)

Companion puppies are placed in loving homes as family pets and are not sold with breeding rights.

These puppies are carefully evaluated for temperament and structure and are well-suited for life as companions and/or active family dogs. While they represent the quality of the breed, they are not intended to be part of a breeding program.

Competition & Breeding Agreement

For buyers interested in performance and the potential for future breeding, we offer select puppies under a structured agreement designed to protect and improve the breed.

Breeding is not automatic—it is conditional on the dog meeting strict health, temperament, and performance criteria.

If a Buyer chooses to pursue breeding, they agree to the following:

  • Consultation with Rhinestone prior to any breeding decisions

  • Completion of all required health clearances:

    • Hip and elbow certification (OFA or equivalent) at 2 years of age or older

    • Annual eye examinations by a recognized specialist

    • Cardiac evaluation by a certified cardiologist at 12 months or older

  • DNA testing, with responsible pairing (carriers bred only to clear dogs)

  • Achievement of at least one recognized American Kennel Club or Canadian Kennel Club title

  • Breeding only to dogs with equivalent health clearances

  • Placement of all non-competition puppies on non-breeding agreements

This approach ensures that any breeding is done ethically, responsibly, and with the long-term health of the breed as the priority.

Guardian Home Program

Our Guardian Home Program allows select families to welcome a top-quality dog into their home while participating in our breeding program.

How It Works

A guardian home is a partnership where the dog lives with you as a family pet, while Rhinestone retains breeding rights for a defined period (maximum of three litters).

  • You provide day-to-day care, training, and a loving home

  • Rhinestone manages all breeding-related decisions and responsibilities

  • Once the program is complete, full ownership is transferred to you

Benefits

  • Receive a pick-of-the-litter female at a significantly reduced cost

  • All breeding-related veterinary expenses and health testing are covered (genetics, hips, elbows, eyes, cardiac)

  • Spay costs covered if the dog does not pass health testing or after completion of the program

  • Optional boarding support with us (availability dependent)

  • Financial return options:

    • 50% of the dog’s purchase price returned after a successful litter or

    • Option to keep a puppy at your original purchase price

  • Additional compensation of $100 per viable puppy for second and third litters (if pursued)

  • Final decision on second or third breedings remains with the guardian family

Our Commitment

Regardless of the pathway, our priority is placing the right dog in the right home. Every decision—from temperament evaluation to placement structure—is made with the long-term success of both the dog and the family in mind.
